Pizza Margherita

Margherita Sauce for 1 pizza

1 can of Plum Italian Tomatoes

1 large (ball) Mozzarella Cheese (or Buffalo Mozzarella for La Buffala Pizza)

Fresh Basil Leaves

1 clove of Garlic

1 tsp Oregano

Extra Virgin Olive Oil

You can buy the pizza dough already made at your local Italian store. I make my own dough and you can follow my Pizza Dough recipe on this site. Once the dough is ready, you can start…

Chop the tomatoes and add them to a bowl.

Add salt, oregano,   garlic, and extra virgin olive oil to the tomatoes. Let it marinate while the dough is rising. The tomatoes are going to have a lot of flavor. Set it aside. Remove the garlic clove befour you use the sauce on the pizza.

Lay the dough in a thin layer in a pizza pan. Spread the tomatoes on the dough.

Add the whole leaves (about 10) of basil on top of the dough.

Drizzle with evoo and cook it at 400F for 15 minutes.

Open the stove, add the sliced mozzarella cheese and add it to the pizza. Continue cooking for another 10 minutes.

Enjoy Buon Appetito!
